Who is this guy? Where did he come from? Did he really write, arrange and perform all these great songs himself, playing virtually every note on the album?
His name’s Greg Laswell. He comes from San Diego. You bet.
What a ball of creative energy. Modern rock. Alternative rock. Whatever you want to call it, Laswell does it good. Of course, the fact that his wife suddenly left him and he didn’t see it coming may have stirred a little passion and been the driving force behind the album.
Regardless of the source of inspiration, the talent shines through. The singing, the melodies, the guitar playing are head and shoulders above the current crop of wannabes that somehow get their songs played on The WB — er, I mean, The CW.
